Where do the race proceeds go toward? 

Last year (2007) $2,000 was raised in Matt's name and donated to benefit the students at Garfield Primary School in Peoria - the school Matt was teaching at during the time of his death. This year we have a goal of raising more money, however all proceeds from this year's race will be donated to Peoria Promise in Matt’s name. Peoria Promise is an opportunity for qualifying City of Peoria graduates to receive a scholarship covering full tuition and books towards a degree or certificate at Illinois Central College.
